Community Hall

A multi-purpose hall available to the community

Pennard Community Hall was built in 1980 on a parcel of land leased from Pennard Primary School. The building originally housed the Sports Hall and the local doctor’s surgery. It was extended in 2000 to include the small meeting hall.

In 2008 a new doctors’ surgery was built and the hall was again extended and a section let to Squiggles Nursery. It is planned to upgrade the small hall this year to improve access and provide a further disabled toilet.

Today the Hall is managed by a small committee of community councillors, who set the budget for the hall and maintain the premises. All decisions are ratified by the full Community Council.

It is now available for hire for parties, classes, wakes or whatever you would like to do. Alternatively you may wish to join one of the many groups who meet there.

  • The Hall is licensed for music, dancing and playing recorded music with Swansea Council, and registered with PRS/PPL. If you wish to sell alcohol, you will need to obtain a licence for the event.
  • The hall is now linked to the internet with overhead projectors, and Owl to facilitate hybrid meetings.
  • There are a variety of regular users (see Community Info/Local Groups section), but can also be hired on a casual basis for meetings, parties etc.
